7-Day Remote Ruaha & Nyerere (Selous) Safari

A morning flight from Dar es Salaam to Ruaha National Park. Met by your guide and transferred to your lodge inside the park. Afternoon game drive in the Ruaha River valley - huge elephant herds, larger prides of lions, and a remarkable density of predators.

A full day of game drives in Ruaha. The park is home to over 10,000 elephants, plus the largest population of greater kudu in East Africa. We visit the Ruaha River, the Mwagusi Sand River, and the Ikuka escarpment.

A full-day walking safari in Ruaha with an armed ranger. The park's varied terrain - riverine forest, open savannah, baobab-studded hills - supports an astonishing diversity of wildlife on foot. We track lion, leopard, and the rare wild dog.

A morning flight to Nyerere (Selous) Game Reserve - the largest protected area in Africa. Met by your guide and transferred to your camp on the Rufiji River. Afternoon boat safari on the river - hippos, crocodiles, and prolific birdlife.

A full day of game drives in the Selous. The reserve is home to one of Africa's largest populations of wild dogs - over 1,300 individuals - plus huge prides of lions, elephants, and hippos. We visit Lake Manze and the Tagalala area.

A morning boat safari on the Rufiji River, then a walking safari in the afternoon. The river is home to over 35,000 hippos and 4,000 crocodiles - the highest concentrations in East Africa. The walking safari tracks wild dogs, elephants, and the smaller creatures.

A morning game drive or boat safari, then a flight back to Dar es Salaam. Drop at the airport or transfer to your onward destination (Zanzibar flight is a popular add-on). Transfer to the airport for your departure.
