Seven days through Tanzania's most iconic parks, from ancient baobabs and elephant herds in Tarangire to the endless plains of the Serengeti, down into the Ngorongoro Crater, and finishing at the flamingo-fringed shores of Lake Manyara. This is the safari most first-time visitors to Tanzania dream of, paced with full days rather than rushed drives, with stays inside the parks so you can experience the bush at dawn and dusk.
The Northern Circuit is the safari that started it all for most of our guests, and for good reason: in seven days, you can encounter the Big Five, watch a million wildebeest thunder across the plains, walk among Maasai warriors, and descend into a volcanic caldera that shelters more wildlife than almost anywhere else on Earth.

Day 01Arrival in Arusha
Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania. You'll be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport by your Springbok guide and driven to your lodge in Arusha. Settle in, recover from the flight, and join us for a welcome dinner.
Day 02Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
An early breakfast and a short drive south brings us to Tarangire National Park. A full-day game drive reveals lion, leopard, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and the rare greater kudu. We enjoy a picnic lunch under a baobab before continuing to your lodge.

A travel day that rewards every minute. We drive up through the misty Ngorongoro Highlands and descend onto the endless plains of the Serengeti. The afternoon game drive delivers our first proper Serengeti sightings.

Full Day in the Serengeti
A full day to explore one of the world's most celebrated wildlife reserves. We set out at dawn, when predators are most active, and track lions, leopards, and cheetahs before they retreat from the heat.
Day 05Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
A leisurely morning game drive as we leave the Serengeti, then we drive back up to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We stop at a Maasai village en route to learn about pastoral life.
Day 06Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
We descend 600m into the Ngorongoro Crater. Home to around 25,000 large animals, the crater floor is one of the best places on Earth to see the Big Five in a single day. A picnic lunch by the hippo pool, then more game driving before returning to Karatu.
Day 07Lake Manyara and Return to Arusha & Departure
Lake Manyara and Return to Arusha & Departure
Our final morning takes us to Lake Manyara National Park. After a half-day game drive, we return to Arusha by early afternoon. Transfer to the airport for your departure.
