TREK OVERVIEW

8-Day Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route

The gold-standard Kilimanjaro climb: a scenic western approach, generous acclimatization, and the highest summit success rate of any standard route.

The 8-day Lemosho Route is widely regarded as the finest all-round trek on Kilimanjaro. It begins on the mountain's remote western flank at Londorossi Gate, spends two full days in quiet forest and moorland before joining the busier southern circuit, and uses the extra day to give your body the best possible chance to adapt.

You will cross the Shira Plateau, sleep below the dramatic Lava Tower, scramble up the Barranco Wall, and make the final midnight push to Uhuru Peak from Barafu Camp. The pacing is deliberate, the scenery varied, and the summit success rate the highest of any standard route we offer.

This itinerary is ideal for first-time high-altitude trekkers, photographers, and anyone who wants the best possible preparation for summit night.
