Springbok Expeditions is a Tanzania-based tour operator. Our office is in Arusha, and we operate under the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. You can contact our data team at info@springbokexpeditions.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to plan and run your trip:

• Contact information (name, email, phone, postal address)
• Travel documents (passport number, nationality, date of birth - needed for park and flight bookings)
• Health and dietary information you share with us (only as needed for the trip)
• Payment information (processed by our payment provider - we do not store card numbers)
• Website usage data (pages visited, referrer, basic device info - via standard analytics)

3. How we use your data

• To plan, quote, and book your trip
• To communicate with you about your trip (and only that - we do not buy mailing lists or sell data)
• To meet our legal and tax obligations
• To improve our website (via aggregated, anonymised analytics)

4. Who we share data with

We share the minimum needed to deliver your trip, with:

• Lodges, camps, and other ground suppliers (your name and stay dates)
• Internal flight operators (full name, passport number, date of birth - as required by the airline)
• National park authorities (your name and park fees - required for entry)
• Our payment processor (card details at the point of payment - never stored by us)
• Our email service (Resend) for booking confirmations and pre-trip information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not share it with marketing partners.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses a minimal set of cookies - for session management and (if you opt in) for privacy-respecting analytics via Plausible. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook tracking, or any advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your trip data for 7 years (required for tax and insurance purposes), then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner - see your rights below.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any data that is wrong
• Delete your data (subject to the 7-year retention above)
• Stop sending you marketing communications (we send very few - typically one or two a year)

8. Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted password storage, and limited access controls on our systems. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data and respond quickly to any incident.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a material way, we will email you and update the date at the top. Small changes (typos, clarifications) will be made without notification.
