Walking Safaris

Track wildlife on foot with armed rangers

Overview of the Experience

Feel the true heartbeat of the savannah. Walking safaris let you discover the finer details of the bush: animal tracks, insects, native plants, and bird calls. Accompanied by an armed park ranger and an experienced naturalist guide, you will walk safe, thrilling paths. Unlike standard game drives, a walking safari engages all your senses. You will smell crushed wild herbs, touch trees, listen to animal warning calls, and learn how to read footprints in the sand to figure out which predator passed by just hours earlier. This is a safe and highly regulated activity. We walk in small groups at a comfortable pace, keeping a safe distance from larger mammals while learning about the intricate local ecosystem.
