TREK OVERVIEW
6-Day Kilimanjaro Machame Route
The classic Machame trek in a faster six-day itinerary: best suited to fit trekkers with solid acclimatization or prior altitude experience.
The 6-day Machame Route is the shortest version of Kilimanjaro's most famous trail. It covers the same ground as the 7-day itinerary but combines the Shira and Barranco days, giving you less time to acclimatize before summit night.
You will still experience every ecological zone, from rainforest to glacier, and every highlight, including the Lava Tower, Barranco Wall, and sunrise at Uhuru Peak. The trade-off is pace: this itinerary is strenuous and best suited to trekkers who already know they handle altitude well.
If you are fit, determined, and short on vacation days, this is the most efficient way to climb Kilimanjaro.
