Fly-In Safari

Skip the long drives and fly straight to the wild

About this experience

Skip the long drives and fly straight to the wild

A fly-in safari is the most efficient and comfortable way to experience Tanzania's legendary wildlife, especially if you are short on time or combining a safari with a beach holiday in Zanzibar. Rather than spending full days driving on dusty highways and bumpy roads, you board a light aircraft and fly directly to park airstrips. Our fly-in safaris connect Zanzibar and Arusha directly to the Serengeti plains and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We offer structured 3 to 6-day itineraries, featuring private 4x4 vehicles and guides waiting for you at the airstrip, excellent lodge accommodations, and all logistics managed seamlessly.

Common questions

Booking fly-in safari

How long are the flights between Zanzibar and the Serengeti?+
Scheduled flight times between Zanzibar and Serengeti airstrips (like Seronera) typically take between 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on any intermediate stops in Arusha or Lake Manyara.
What is the luggage allowance on fly-in safaris?+
Since fly-in safaris use light aircraft (like Cessna Caravans), there is a strict luggage limit of 15kg (33 lbs) per person, which must be packed in soft-sided bags. Hard suitcases cannot fit in the baggage pods.
Can these itineraries end in Arusha instead of Zanzibar?+
Yes, absolutely. While the 3-day and 4-day itineraries are designed to return directly to Zanzibar, the 5-day and 6-day itineraries finish in Arusha. We can customize any of these routes to fit your exact international flight details.
