6-Day Walking & Bush Safari

Met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and driven south to Tarangire National Park. Afternoon at leisure in camp. Welcome dinner and safari briefing with your guide - who will be a specialist in walking safaris.

A full day on foot in Tarangire. We walk through baobab-studded landscapes, along the Tarangire River, and into the heart of the park's elephant country. The pace is slow - we are looking for tracks, dung, birds, and the smaller creatures. Armed ranger accompanies us at all times.

A morning walk in Tarangire, then a short drive to Lake Manyara. Afternoon walking safari along the lakeshore, with flamingos, hippos, and prolific birdlife. We return to the vehicle for a short game drive to spot tree-climbing lions.

A drive up to the Ngorongoro Highlands, then a full day of walking in the forested crater rim. Elephants, buffalo, colobus monkeys, and a wide variety of birds. We visit a Maasai village en route.

A descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari on the floor of the world's largest intact caldera. Picnic lunch by the hippo pool, then return to the rim.

A leisurely morning with a final forest walk, then return to Arusha by early afternoon. Drop at the airport or transfer to your onward destination. Transfer to the airport for your departure.
